BQLT 7th Annual Bike & Walking Tour
Saturday, September 15, 2018

Join the Brooklyn Queens Land Trust for a guided walking and biking tour of community gardens in Bushwick and Central Brooklyn! See what’s going on in your neighborhood gardens! Watch chickens up close! Hear the stories behind these green spaces and connect with your community!

Guided bike and walking tours begin at 2 pm at Concerned Citizens of Grove Street Community Garden: 72 Grove Street (between Bushwick Ave. and Evergreen Ave.). Please arrive at 1:30 to check in, hear opening remarks from Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams, collect your BQLT swag, look around the garden, and enjoy the Grove Street block party!

Note: Google Maps might automatically direct to 16-72 Grove St. in Ridgewood, Queens. This is not the location of the tour!

Tours will visit the following gardens for approximately 10 minutes each:

  • Concerned Citizens of Grove Street Garden (tour start): 72 Grove Street, Brooklyn 11221
  • Contented Hart Garden (bike tour only): 1475 Bushwick Avenue, Brooklyn 11207
  • Woodbine Street Block Association Garden: 146 Woodbine Street, Brooklyn 11221
  • La Finca Garden (bike tour only): 1036 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn 11237
  • Garden of Angels: 978 Greene Avenue, Brooklyn 11221
  • Patchen Avenue Garden: 49 Patchen Avenue, Brooklyn 11221
  • The People’s Garden (tour reception): 1237-1241 Broadway, Brooklyn 11221


Following the tours, join us for a reception, 5 – 7 pm at People’s Garden: 1237-1241 Broadway, Bushwick 11221

Dominican eats by Woke Foods • Live music by Haiti Cultural Exchange and Ricky Quiñones • Good vibes

We are thrilled that Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams will be joining us! Mr. Adams is a strong supporter of community gardens, an avid bicyclist, and enthusiastic about healthy plant-based eating.

Thank you to the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, NYC Department of Youth and Community Development and the NYC Council for their continuous support of our organization. Thank you to Haiti Cultural Exchange for a beautiful continuous partnership to bring lovely Haitian culture through art, music and dance to our community gardens.

This event is FREE and all are welcome. Donations help BQLT continue to improve these gardens for the community we all share.

$10 suggested donation for tour
All who register receive a free BQLT water bottle (while supplies last)!
All donations of $10 or more receive a BQLT t-shirt (while supplies last)!
$5 suggested donation for food

**This event will take place light rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather, we will postpone to Saturday, September 22. Registrants will be notified by 9:30 am the day of in the event of rescheduling. Donations will be non-refundable, but registrants can claim their swag by emailing**
