The Community Gardener Portrait Project: Brooklyn (Opening Reception January 18th & Exhibit on through March 16th)

BQLT is excited to announce Zachary Schulman’s photo exhibit: “The Community Gardener Portrait Project: Brooklyn” from January 18 – March 16, 2025. The Opening Reception is on Saturday, January 18th 12–2pm located at Brooklyn Public Library – New Lots Branch (665 New Lots Ave, Brooklyn NY 11207). Exhibit on view during regular library hours.

This exhibit features 26 portraits of Brooklyn community gardeners, captioned with excerpts from interviews with the gardeners, all produced during the 2024 growing season. We are excited that it includes six BQLT gardeners’ portraits from four BQLT Brooklyn gardens!

Opening Reception: Saturday, January 18th 12–2pm

Zack is a former BQLT staff member and on-going supporter, and we’re excited he has included BQLT gardeners in his past and current exhibitions of portraits! We proudly supported his Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) and Puffin Foundation Ltd. grant applications for his Brooklyn and NYC gardener portrait projects!
