Help Us Raise 20K in 2022!

BQLT has again joined the #BrooklynGives initiative of the Brooklyn Community Foundation and we’re kicking it off early this year on November 9th!

Preserving our BQLT community gardens and our urban trees is more critical than ever before with effects of climate change increasing; encroachment by development; rising costs of lumber, soil, and other garden supplies; and everyone’s continuing need for green space to rest, reconnect, and recharge!

We’re thrilled to announce a $2,500 matching gift from BQLT Board emeritus, Irene Van Slyke. For over 20 years, Irene has offered BQLT her support and infinite wisdom. We are truly grateful that she has pledged to match all donations up to $2,500 dollar-for-dollar!

Irene was involved in BQLT’s formative years serving as Treasurer and Secretary, and currently is active on several committees and co-chairs our Tree Committee. Irene has been a gardener at BQLT’s David Foulke Memorial Garden for 40+ years and heads up the Political Committee of the NYC Sierra Club.

Give TODAY November 22nd through midnight on Giving Tuesday, November 29th, and double your gift towards our 37 community gardens!

Visit our #BrooklynGives campaign page, view our fundraisers’ pages, and if you can, consider giving a gift to the future of Brooklyn and Queens community gardens.
