Thank You! 7th Annual Bike & Walking Tour Was A Success!

Thank You!

Our 7th Annual Bike & Walking Community Garden Tour was a huge success thanks to you! Thank you to all attendees who joined us for either a walk or a light bike route around some of our Bushwick  and Bed-Stuy gardens on Saturday, September 15th.

Here are some of the key highlights:

  • Nan Blackshear, a representative for Brooklyn Borough President participated and spoke on behalf of BP Adams. She really enjoyed the tour, and appreciated the participation of all of you!
  • Over at La Finca on the Bike Tour, gardeners and participants were able to run into Boris Santos from Antonio Reynoso's office!
  • Our Time Press wrote a story about the tour! Check it out: "Community Gardens are Urban Oases."
  • We were able to raise almost $700 thanks to all of you! We wouldn't be able to make events like this happen without your continous support!

2018 Bike & Walking Tour

We’d like to thank our partners for this event: Haiti Cultural Exchange for bringing up Strings ‘N’ Skins, who lit up the dance floor at People’s Garden; and Ricky Quinones, who brought us back with guitar and cello. Thanks to Woke Foods for catering the event with great plant based Dominican food, and thank you to every garden that participated this year and kept their gates open to show off the beautiful open spaces in Bushwick! Of course, thank you to the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, NYC Department of Youth and Community Development and the NY City Council for their ongoing support.

We enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones at our 7th Annual Bike & Walking Tour on September 15, 2018, and we’d love to see you again next year! Stay updated by joining our mailing list and keeping in touch.
