City of Forest Day is an annual day of activities across the city to raise awareness of the importance of the New York City urban forest, and the essential role New Yorkers play every day in caring for the “lungs” of our city. BQLT is a proud Forest for All NYC Coalition member!

BQLT Gardens Hosting City of Forest Day Events:

Street Tree Pruning Event @ Q Gardens on Sat. Oct. 26th 11am-2pm at 58 E. 18th St., Flatbush, Brooklyn 11226

Pruning the street trees in the Flatbush neighborhood surrounding the garden, along Church Ave and its surrounding streets. Members of our garden who are Citizen Pruners will lead the event and advise. You can still participate in caring for our urban forest if you are not a Citizen Pruner! We’ll also be aerating the tree beds and laying down compost and mulch.  All are welcome including children.

We are just a couple blocks from the A/C train. Come see our pollinator garden, check out our bees, and rest in the shade!
