2025 Call for BQLT Board Candidates!

The Brooklyn Queens Land Trust is seeking candidates to serve as members of the BQLT Board of Directors for a 2-year term starting May 2025. Board members enjoy the opportunity to connect with and support the 37 gardens in BQLT’s network, and creatively collaborate with fellow community leaders to ensure these public spaces are protected in perpetuity.

The BQLT Nominations Committee is seeking candidates with experience and specific skills such as: event planning; accounting; finance or banking; social media and marketing; property management; community organizing; environmental science; property law; and/or fundraising and grant-writing. These would all be valuable assets for the BQLT Board. Board members are asked to volunteer at least 15 hours per month, which includes monthly Board and Committee meetings (remote and hybrid meeting options).

Board Elections take place at the BQLT Annual Membership Meeting on Sat. April 5th 2025 10am-12noon at a Brooklyn venue. Candidates are asked to give a brief presentation to the General BQLT Garden Membership.
