BQLT is a 2025 Brooklyn Org Spark Prize Finalist!

We’re honored to be a 2025 Brooklyn Org SPARK PRIZE Finalist!

BQLT is one of the 20 nonprofits advancing in consideration for the 2025 Brooklyn Org Spark Prize, which celebrates the work of long-standing local organizations championing racial justice across issues and communities in Brooklyn. Five winners will be announced by Brooklyn Org in January 2025, with each receiving $100,000 to be used however they need, and will be honored at a Spark Breakfast event in late February.

Each year, five nonprofits are selected to receive a $100,000 prize based upon three primary criteria:

  • Born in Brooklyn: Organizations that have a deep history in Brooklyn and a continued commitment to serving the borough.
  • Commitment to Equity: Organizations that address systemic challenges and advance racial and social justice for all Brooklynites.
  • Vision for Future: Organizations that have a strong vision for the future of their work in Brooklyn and beyond.

Another bonus of being a Spark Prize finalist, BQLT is able to kick-off our 2024 BrooklynGives campaign with a $5,000 match from Brooklyn Org! So please join us in reaching our campaign goal of $20,000 to preserve and steward our 37 gardens!

Donate on our 2024 BrooklynGives Fundraising Campaign Page before Dec. 31st 2024 midnight!
