BQLT kicks-off Pollinator Habitat Kit Project with Xerces Society

Northeast Monarch & Pollinator Habitat Kit Project with the Xerces Society

BQLT has been selected as a project partner with Xerces Society during the 2023 season to distribute free pollinator-friendly plants to our gardens! The Xerces Society is offering habitat kits to project partners who are willing to provide the time, labor, and land to create pollinator habitats. We will be receiving these plants in the beginning of June and they will be available for pickup from a member garden.

Pollinator-friendly Plants: Common Milkweed, Butterfly Milkweed, Blue Mistflower, Lanceleaf Coreopsis, Purple Coneflower, Dense Blazingstar, Wild Bergamot, Tall White Beardtongue, Narrowleaf Mountainmint, Smooth Blue Aster, and Culver’s Root.

Two Options for Participation:

1) Planter–if you’d just like some free pollinator-friendly plants for your garden OR

2) Planter Plus–if you’d like some free plants for your garden AND you’re willing to send us photos and updates to track the progress of your new plants.

***If interested or have questions, please contact Frank Schellace (Beekeeper & Gardener at Q-Gardens) and indicate Planter or Planter Plus participation level by Tues. May 30th.
